I was a promising footballer and represented Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest as an academy/centre of excellence player (across the age groups). I also played football for my school, district, county and university.
In view of a career in professional football not materializing and my interests in mental health/well-being and the psychological aspects of sports performance, I pursued a career in psychology. I graduated from Durham University with a degree in Psychology and later completed two Master’s degrees in Applied Psychological Research and Sport and Exercise Psychology (both with distinction). Subsequently, I completed my Stage Two training in Sport and Exercise Psychology and a professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
I am now a dual trained Clinical Psychologist and Sport Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS). In addition, I am a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist and an IPT-UK registered practitioner.
